Another Newb Mule Question

This one's probably a dumb one, but I have to ask it anyway.

If I buy another contentID for a mule, and make up a new handle to link it to, is it possible to have the mule sitting in town at the same time I'm using my main character?

Or is that just not possible and only one can be logged in at a time?

Im pretty sure, that with another ID it doesnt matter. I think the only way to do that is buying the game gain, then making a new ID. Cause if you could have 2 ids on one cd code, then people would be able to pay there friends like a buck a month for a char.
