  • 60+ trade skills

i've recently heard some info regarding trade skills that are over 60. apparantly, it isn't possible to max out a skill at 100 if you have another thats over 60....for example, if you have cooking at 70, then the highest your smithing will go is 90. anybody know if this is true?

note: cooking and smithing aren't related, i just used 2 randomly chosen trade skills.

I read somewhere that you get a total of 60 skill points to apply to all craft skills after lv60.

So you could take every skill up to 60 but then you are limited to 60 more skill points to apply however you wish.

so you could have 1 craft skill at 100 another at 80 and the rest at 60, or you could have 3 craft skills at 80 and the rest at 60, or you could have 3 craft skills at 70 and one at 90 and the rest at 60 etc.

After this if you gain a skill point in a craft and its already above level 60 you will lose a skill point in another craft that is above lv60 in order to keep you at the 60-point-post-60-skill-cap.

Before you say it, know that i am just as confused as you are ROFL.

It's total 40 points beyond 60, not 60 extra points.

So you can have 100 in 1 trade all others cap at 60 or
you can have 80 in 2 trades and all others cap at 60 etc.

So, since I want to level Alchemy, Clothcraft, Goldsmithing, and Black Smithing, the most I could get in each one is level 70 right? Or I could level one to level 100, and leave the others at 60. I have two questions about this though:

            1) If you have one skill at 90, one at 70, and another at 60, what happens if you level up your level 60 skill? You loose a point form one of the others right? But which one do you loose?

            2) What odds do I have at making a level 100 craft item, if that craft skill is only at 90? (or 80). I really want to be able to make really high level alchemy items, but I want to make high level Clothcraft and Goldsmith items as well. If I leveled both Alchemy and Clothcraft to level 80, could I make all the items for each of those? Or would I fail too often?

I think I'll level my Alchemy to 100 if I have to choose only one to excel at. But I'd really like to be able to make high level Clothcraft items as well (and goldsmithing). Is there any way I can level Alchemy high enough to make Icarus Wings and the stat potions all the time, yet still be able to make Jester Capes and stuff?

            Thanks for any answers.

1: from what I understand it will take one point from the higest one trying to get all as close to eachother as possible so if u add 10 points to the one with 60 u'll end up with 80 70 70 instead of 90 70 60

2: At lvl90 with advanced support its possible to make a lvl100 item in teory atleast bunt u have to count with a lot of failures. At lvl80 u got no chance what so ever to make a lvl100 item so dont even try it.

Alright, thanks for the answers =) Unless something changes my mind by the time I get that high, I think I'll take Alchemy all the way to 100. Maybe I'll stop at 90 though, and get clothcraft to level 70... but only if there are some great items to make at level 60-80 clothcraft.

                Anyway, thanks again =)

Can you take back points out of a tradeskill?

So suppose I take cooking to 68 so that I can get the apron. Can I later on take those 8 points back and put them into another craft?
