  • Any Advice? Goldsmithing 30+

I have gathered maybe 25 Silver Rings so far, with plans to make them into Sardonyx / Amethyst rings for skillups (until 34 or 35). I'm not too worried about that, but it looks like mythril will get very costly very fast.

Would it be worth it to invest into a Field Armor set and go mining in Palborough for Mythril? I've never tried this, so I'm not sure how common the mythril is or if I'd spend years gathering the materials. I don't expect it to be quick, but I'm wondering if it would be smarter to just pay 60k in materials (per stack of ingots) rather than attempting to mine most of it. I figured if I was able to make some extra funds (from Iron and the occasional Platinum) while finding Mythril at a good pace, it might help.

If the mining is worth it, how big is the difference between 2nd and 3rd floor? I won't be able to mine on the 3rd floor without agro (yet), should I wait until level 30+?

Any advice from Miners and / or Goldsmiths is greatly appreciated.

One thing about going mining -- you probably want to have a semi-decent Smithing skill too, so you can make Iron Ingots out of the Ore you find; 15 or 20 typically suffices.

If you bring along 5 stacks of pickaxes (12,000 gil invested), and 3 or 4 stacks of Fire Crystals (6000-8000 invested), you could probably come out in a matter of 3 hours with enough Mythril Ore for 6 or more ingots, Zinc and Iron and Silver for a couple spare ingots of those sort, and about 2 Platinum Ore.

I wholeheartedly suggest waiting until you are level 34, as if you are unable to reach the points on the third floor, you may be stuck with only one point respawning about the areas you can reach for a long time.
