Sea serpent Grotto fishing, anyone?

I fish 2 stacks of Nebimonite per day. Normally, I get on the ship and it will take anywhere from 4 to 6 trips to get 2 stacks. Although I make good money out've them with crafting, I would like to find a place where the bite rate would be better. It's not that it's so horrendously bad on the boat. It's just that when you factor in the getting in and out of the ship and the wait between arrival and departure, it makes catching them not very time-efficient.

I checked the Osakana database and it says that I can also catch them in the Sea Serpent's Grotto. The only problem is that I'm a lvl 40/20 BRD/WHM and I would get completely owned if anything ever aggroed on me in there. If I could find a spot in there where no mobs could get to me and I could fish in peace, it might be worth a try if the bite rate is the same or better there than on the ship. I would also get bites from grimmonites, therefore possibly gaining skill too. I can't get any skill from nebs anymore.

Has anyone else tried fishing there? Are there any good safe spots where you can fish without stressing out because of mobs being too close for comfort?

Was wondering the same thing. Not as concerend about the time in and out of the boat, but on the boat you can break a composite rod fishing for nebs. Not a big deal, it sells back broken for almsot as much as a whole one, but thats alot of time taken out of my day. I will go there sometime this week to try out my luck in se serpents. I t hink the biggest thing u can fish in there is kraken. Not sure tho. Either way, Ill be able get away easy.
