  • Looking for solid info on breaking Beast-Made items.

I currently have Smithing skill at 15 and I can finally start making some small profit from Iron Ore to Iron Ingot but the profit is quite low. I was thinking of Mining my own Iron Ore and turn it into Ingot by miself, making a bigger profit that way but I found out that you could break items like Goblin Helmet, Goblin Mail and turn it into Ingot. It seems like the result can be random and the amount of failure is high but can I make some money out of this? Could I get some solid info on this please? I didn't find anything that was giving enough information.

okay the only ones i know off the top of my head are:

Wind Crystal + Yagudo Necklace = 3+ Grass threads (6 on an HQ synth)
Wind Crystal + Goblin Mask = 1 Sheap leather (never got a HQ synth...)
Lightning Crystal + Yagudo Necklace = 1 Bronze ignot (Blacksmithing skill not Goldsmithing though)

also you can break down some cheaper items such as the rings for ignots using a lightning crystal, once you get a decent skill it'd be an easy way to make money off the AH, take all those copper rings low level goldsmiths are making and sell 'em back as ignots and make a profit...

      Yes

Could I get some solid info on this please?

Gobbie Helm or Gobbie Mail + Lightning = Bronze, Iron, or Steel Ingot

You can do the same with Quadav Backplates later on to make Darksteel Ingots (I think it's at least 50+ skill).

There IS SOLID INFORMATION in this particular forum....I've posted it at least three times and it's definitely in the Blacksmithing thread (if you cared to search) at least twice.

You 'can' make money, but you will not 'definitely' make money. If you invest 5-10k and break down gobbie helms and gobbie mails for 1/2 hr to an hr, you will 'usually' make a profit unless you're doing it on a day bad for lightning crystals.

sorry for being anal, here's the specific info:

Goblin Helm + Lightning Crystal = 1 Bronze Ingot OR 1 Iron Ingot OR 1 Steel Ingot

Goblin Mail (NOT ARMOR) + Lightning Crystal = 3 Bronze Ingots OR 2 Iron Ingots OR 1 Steel Ingot

Get 5-10k set aside and invest it on breaking Gobbie items and see if you like the return. It's highly results may vary....I've had days when I've lost 5k b/c all I got back were bronze ingots or nothing and other days I've synthed an entire stack of Iron and Steel Ingots.

I dont understand what info you are talking about but, Basicly to get anything besides the Bronze ingots for example, it needs to be a High Quality combine. to get the best like the darksteel on the backplates I think it needs to be a HQ2 or even HQ3 combine!

            Mog Enhancement

Try also getting the Elemental Darkness Mog enhancement. It improves your breaking down of items.
Has more time played on AKosygin's character then he does....

Actually it produces a copper ingot, and it is goldsmithing.. You can get Goldsmithing to lvl 1-2 with that recipe.

Why would the darkness moghancement improve your chances of breaking down items? All it does is cause you to lose fewer components when you fail at a synth involving a dark crystal. Aren't you thinking of the de-synth moghancement?

ALSO, a fellow blacksmith of mine reports that de-synth moghancement did nothing for him when breaking down beast-made items. It may be that the game does not consider these "special case" synths to be de-synths at all. So he switched to using the lightning moghancement when breaking down goblin junk. He doesn't get better results per de-synth, but he does lose stuff less often(and just pops crystals instead).

You can also break down Antica Pauldrons.

its simple, Mogenhancemet does NOT help with de-syntetising...
what the ME helps is if you fail, you have less chances of loosing the items...

same goes for all others enhancements.. fire,water... blalabla.. they only help with loss of materials..
if you read the enhancement it says something like
"When you fail using lightning crystal less chance of losing material"

Well, it really isn't that "simple".

There is a "Light" Moghancement that helps with Desynthesis and it does so when you try to break down items that are crafted to reclaim some of the base materials. You will fail less. The wording is different in the description and I have experimented plenty with breaking things down. My success rate has gone way up.

This specific MH does NOT help when you break down Beastmade Items such as Goblin Mail and Helms. I assume that it is because they aren't considered "desynths" seeing as how they were never "synthed".

In conclusion, stick with Lightning ME when breaking down any Beastmen gear with lightning crystals and Wind ME when breaking the same things down with a wind crystal. Use the "Desynth" ME when you are breaking down those pesky Ram Mantles or other skill path items to recoup some lose.
