    What is the difference between Field Gear and Worker Gear other than the Def?

    Other than defense the only difference is that field is lv.1, worker is lv.15.

      I don't break as many pickaxes with the Worker's gear. It's not just a lvl difference it makes a difference in your success in harvesting/mining/logging as well.

        Anyone know the synthsys combination needed to make these? i think its something to do with leather crafting but im not sure, thx in advance :D

          Boots and gloves are Leathercraft

          Gloves
          Earth
          1x Ram Leather
          1x Dhalmel Leather
          1x Cotton Cloth

          Boots
          Earth
          2x Ram Leather
          1x Bronze Scales
          1x Grass Cloth

          Don't remember the exact skill levels off the top of my head, but i vaguely remember that gloves are late 20's, boots are early-mid 30s

            Well, since the market collapsed for mining gear on my server, I went ahead and bought the Worker stuff.

            While there is a lot of conjecture one way and another, there is no definitive answer so I decided to try it myself. However, while I can see that the increase in defence for the tunic is quite a bit, the difference for the boots and gloves is very small (1 def to 3). I can't believe that a MW item will only give a +2 def without some other type of benefit.

              I don't really know for sure... i should have said that before. It's near impossible to tell since mining is such a hit-or-miss operationg. Anyway, all of the other weird gear from the patch is identical. Vagabonds/Chocobo/Fishing are all the same stat boost with only a higher defense. Since S-E chose to not include +1 on the field stuff, we really have no way of knowing if the Worker stuff is +2 or the exact same. Only person experience and conjecture will tell However, sometimes it just feels better to think you're getting more help

              Honestly, i think it's just there so you can more comfortable mine in places with mobs that still aggro. i.e. Deep in Gusgen when you are lv.40. You could just carry around extra armor. But when you're mining you usually try to carry as little as possible, so having 4 slots taken up by better armor would be a big waste :/

              edit: btw... the mining economy on our server collapsed too... at one point i was making 20-40k a day selling mining boots and gloves. Now i have trouble selling them for 5k a piece.
