Another Fishing question

Ok so let me get this straight.

1. The more fish and not the type of fish that i catch int he rwo raises my guild skill faster?

2. Once I get my fishing level to where I cant gain anymore exp from moat carp it will be easier to catch moat carp?

any of this info will be a great big help to me. i jsut started fishing and am only at lv 6 so i dont know much except....... FISHING IS AWESEOM!!!!!!

I just started fishing recently due to lack of success/funds with other crafts. But I have gotten the most success at lvling up my fishing skill, by fishing for something that is in the same rank lvl as you.

I started with fastwater + sabiki rig at windurst and that took my fishing to 8 rather quickly.

Then I moved to moat carp and uncapped my fishing by turning a moat carp into the guild master, I continued to fish moat carp for money though usually at a 1/3 - 1/4 success rate during the night. This got me to lvl 11.

To fish moat carp I used composite rod + insect paste @ windurst waters. I collected probably 10 stacks of moat carp using 24 stacks of insect paste, but that was mainly for money and not for skill ups ^_^

Currently, I've moved to cheval salmons and I've been getting skill ups pretty regularly. Up to lvl 14 now and I've only been fishing for 2hrs.
(fly lure/minnow lure + composite)


Now, if you want to catch more moat carp, just keep lvling up your fishing and you'll be able to fish faster, and get more bites thus being able to catch more moat carp.

1. Both. Its like the other guilds, a recipe will only get skill ups for you till a certain point. Also, the more you catch the more skill ups you receive.

2. In theory, yes. I'm sure there is also a chaos factor that needs to be included. Just like normal fishing luck [probably] plays a role in whether or not you can get many catches. But even with that included you still average out to more catches.
