Leathercrafting Leveling

Hi, I'm getting into leathercrafting but I don't really know what to make to get my skill up. Since I'm just starting, I'm still at 0. I tried making sheep leather but only got .1 increase. So does anyone have some advice for leveling this skill up?

I get decent skill raises doing wind crystal + 2 sheep skin as well as earth crystal + grass thread and 5 rabbit skins

OKay, so to what lvl should these take me to?

Not very high, but its enough to get you started. The sheep wool combo will take you to 4. Im not sure about the rabbit mantle.
