Depending which country has control over a region, a certain NPC will sell goods from it. These shops aren't marked on the map.
List of recipes in order of skill-raising limit
I look at the different recipes and try to pick the cheapest ones for rapid skillups. If I can buy all the ingredients from regional shops, I usually do that.
Goods are sold from shops marked on the map too, but I don't have any good lists =>_>=
There are also goods sold at the airship docks. The country with the best conquest ranking usually has more goods for sale.
