44 - Diving Beetle vs. Diving Beetle | Sauromugue Campaign [S] | G-7/G-8 Enjoying the cool camps? I got another one. Absolutely safe (unless you link >.>). Sadly no Pixies in sight on my server ; ;. The camp can be split up into 3 sub camps. You have one when you are dropped off when you OP to Sauromugue (to the direct west). This camp has 5 beetles. Heading north to G-7, 4 more beetles a little past the spine. You can find them using Wide Scan if your not sure. Then head to the small area to the west, back down to G-8 (which in the present is also a beetle camp), 5 more beetles, making a total of 14 beetles. There are more, but there was no visible need to go and find them. These beetles are 44-47, as you would get 200 EXP occasionally. I don't know, maybe I was lucky, but I was getting a lot of EM pops, and a mix of T pops. My approach was that I tried to have 2 EM beetles per 5 beetle camp. Basically after you kill a beetle, recycle your pet (Leave it within the area of beetles) and let it heal on it's own. This allows you to have a guaranteed pet for a continuing chain, and it is very easy to pull off. I was able to get Chain 4 on multiple occasions. You can stay in one of the 5 beetle sub camps, or go mobile once you clear the camp, which ever suits your fancy. At the speed I was killing, I could have stay in one of the sub camps, but I just wanted to move around for variety. I was able to maintain a chain 4 just staying in one sub camp. Keep in mind, repops are every 5 minutes. Now you *can* stay here for 45, but I wanted to try the Bird/Bug camp in East Ronfaure [S]. I'll get to that once I finally hit 46. Pixie Coverage: No. Monster: Diving Beetle Level: 44-47 Aggressive: No Link: Yes. Sight Monsters that might kill you: No ------------------ 45 - Ladybug vs. Colibri | East Ronfaure [S] | H-9/I-9 Can anyone say Chain 5? These mobs are squishy, and squishy = fast kills. To note, I subbed /NIN for this (as I have been since I faught bees) and dual wielded axes. This, whether I wanted to or not, allowed me to keep hate almost split between my pet and myself. Now, I suggest here you stick to getting EM Ladybugs and fight only Colibri. Also, do not use food. Colibri will eat it. Fighting Ladybugs are a hassle. They have a pretty high evasion generally, and they use the following attacks: AoE Attack Down AoE Amnesia Single attack + Short stun (goes through shadows) Single attack + Accuracy down (goes through shadows) Nasty yes. Only good thing is that the stat downs do not last *that* long, like 30-60s. During the day, Ladybugs aggro to sight, and pretty stupid far if you ask me. At the H-9/I-9 grid, you'll find a section of 5 Colibri, which you'll be using to keep your chain going. Colibris, like yourself, will have a little bit of a difficult time hitting your Ladybugs, so you can use your same Ladybug pet on 2-4 mobs. Yes, 2-4 mobs with the same pet. Keep in mind of the duration of EM Charmed pets. Be sure to Leave > Re-charm to refresh that duration every 1 or 2 fights or else you'll have your pet beating you down when you really don't need it to. Chain 5 is very possible, as I achieved it during the day several times. During the night, Ladybug's evasion drops a little (how much, I don't know but it does go down) and they do not aggro at all. But skeleton's do pop, and WILL AGGRO YOU if your HP is low. Night time counts from 18:00-6:00. It's also during night time when you should capitalize on killing as fast as possible. I was even easier able to get Chain 5 almost consistently, and Colibris are back up even after you achieved your chain. If you do not wish to fight here, by all means move. Colibris and Ladybugs are almost all over the map; just use Wide Scan to find them. I just stayed here because it was quick to access and close to OP. Excellent, excellent camp. And yes, you are going to want to stay here for your next level. Pixie Coverage: Yes. Monster: Ladybug Level: 45-47 Aggressive: Yes. Sight. This time you want to focus fighting vs. Ladybugs, because population wise you have a lot more options. Also, you can use food here if you stay away from Colibri. Acc food of your preference would be suggested because of the evasion of Ladybugs. I also suggest, if possible, to sub /DNC. DNC has that ability to reduce a monsters evasion through Quickstep, which benefits both you and your pet. During the day, again, keep in mind they aggro to sight. You may want to bring cheap bow/arrows to pull out Ladybugs into safer areas so you do not aggro mid fight. Also, even with Quickstep/ /DNC, they will still take a little longer to kill. I pulled Chain 4 fairly easy, but Chain 5 was a little hard. During the night, again, capitalize on the fast EXP. Nothing aggros except for the skeletons, so you can go around the 4 grids and just lay waste to every ladybug you can see on your screen. Chain 5 was very easy to get, and you can probably use the same pet for up to 2 monsters. Also keep in mind, Ladybug Wings are a good farming item. Save them during your EXP experience here and drop them off at Wyatt in Southern San d'Oria [S] to complete the quest Seeing Spots for 3,000G every 4 wings. Pixie Coverage: Yes. You can get here either by going far east, then head south and around. Or you can go to I-10 following the road path. This camp is spread out, with about 5-6 patches of 3-4 Coppercaps. You have to do this a little strategically to get the maximum effect of this camp. Initially you might have trouble depending on what mobs are currently available. Generally speaking, you want to have at least 1 EM Coppercap per patch of 3 Coppercaps, and at least 2 EM Coppercaps per patch of 4 Coppercaps. Why? This way you can Charm a EM, kill either a EM or T, then drop it off where it spawns for it to heal. You basically start from either I-10 and head north following the hill upward and downwarad till you reach I-9, then circle down the same path. (You can start from I-9, doesn't matter). EXP wont be *that* fast (vs. say the Ladybug camp), however I was able to get 48 in a little under 2 hours. Chain 3 if fully possible; I achieved Chain 5 once, but it was really more of luck and don't expect to hit it. If you can, great. You can stay here for you next level, but I figured since the mobs are so spread out (and the kills are a little dragged out), a new scenery was in order. Pixie Coverage: Yes. Monster: Coppercap Level: 47-49 Aggressive: No Link: Yes. Sight. Monsters that might kill you: Goobbue Farmers, but easily avoidable. ------------------ 48 - Lynx vs. Sauromugue Skink | Sauromugue Champaign [S] | K-9/K-8 Risky risky camp, stay alert here. Hounds pop at night that aggro. Lynx aggro to sight. Skink's aggro to sight, and if you aggro more then one, consider yourself dead. Lynx are about a 2 level range lower then Skinks, so in this area you want to definitely find EM Lynx as pets, and recycle them as often as possible. The best way I found to do this is to pull Skinks with your pet, then Heel them to where they spawn. Be aware of where you will get your next pet, and Leave your current pet once it drops below 25% and get a next one. It will take you a minimum of 2 pets to kill one Skink. Lynx are located on the hill on the east portion of both grid K-9/K-8; Now I purposely say K-9 first, because I found this area more comfortable then I did K-8, however either side is good. It's really all about the choices of pets. Skinks are located on the lower part of the hill, mostly on the west side of both K-9/K-8. Keep a watch on your hate management. I had a difficult time getting my pet to secure hate, so you might want to sub /NIN, but I also suggest you do not dual wield axes. It produces too much hate. Skinks are 3-5 levels above you, so you'll be getting no less then 200 a kill. I topped at Chain 3. Also, Skink's here do not have Foul Breath, but instead have Thunderbolt, which is a frontal breath attack. It's HP based, but generally weak. It has Additional Effect: Stun. There is no pixies around this camp, only directly to the south. It's about a 45s walk if you rather get a Cure V then rest if your HP is low. Pixie Coverage: No. Monster: Lynx Level: 47-50 Aggressive: Yes. Sight Link: No. Monsters that might kill you: Sauromugue Skink, Hounds at night. Monster: Sauromugue Skink Level: 51-53 Aggressive: Yes. Sight. Link: No. Monsters that might kill you: Sauromugue Skink, Hounds at night, Lynx. Keep in mind, these Dino's run fast. ------------------ 49 - Berry Grub vs. Berry Grub | Rolanberry Fields [S] | E-9/F-9 Handle this like you would the Coppercap camp in Rolanberry. Crawlers are found in patchs of 4 and 3, and you'd want 2 EM per 4, 1 EM per 3. I focused by last half of my EXP level on E-9, where its 2 patches of 4 crawlers. You can get a consistent Chain 3 here, and if your lucky a Chain 4. Crawlers here have a slightly wide level range, that being 4 levels (49-52) as opposed to then normal level range of 3, which many of the mobs prior to now have been. There is a Goblin Skirmisher that wanders in this area, so keep your eyes open (or you can track it). A Pixie does travel here also, but she flys a very large area (goes as far north as like H-7 and as far south as your camp). Crawlers can get a little hard to charm, more so the highest level ones if you plan of trying to spawn EMs. If you charm just make sure neither your current location has a crawler near your potential pet, nor your path that you want to run in case you fail a charm has a crawler in the path. They link by sound. One pet should be all your need per Crawler. If it gets tight, release your pet and recharm it to reset hate. Try your best not to let your EM pets die as it might be difficult for you to get them to pop again. Pixie Coverage: Yes. Monster: Berry Grub Level: 49-52 Aggressive: No. Link: Yes. Sound Monsters that might kill you: Goblin Skirmisher, Slugs near the area (although they should not be an issue). ------------------ 50 - Giant Spider vs. Giant Spider, Giant Spider vs. Goblin's Ladybug | East Ronfaure [S] | K-4 Dangerous camp here. If you suck as pulling, get ready for a crash course. There is a specific area at K-4 I camped in, and I'll try to detail it as best as I can so you can get an idea of where it is and what to look for. This area is towards where present day Ranguemont Pass. On your way there, you'll find a Goblin BST (it's name fails my memory atm since I did this a few weeks ago) with a Goblin's Ladybug. You'll also find a Giant spider near this Goblin BST. Next, heading north, you'll see like 2 gate/wall/fences...whatever you want to call it. A spider will be roaming between thes gate/wall/fences. After the two gates closer to the present day zone to Ranguemont Pass, you'll find 2 more spiders; one right after the gates, one near where the zone would be. This would account for a total of 1 Goblin BST + Pet, and 4 Spiders. Hopefully you're still with me on this. The spider between the 2 gates/walls, and the spider right after the gates/walls heading north, you want to setup as EM. These will be your weapon of choice, make sure they do not die. You're basic plan of action is to take the center Spider and fight the Goblin Pet, then take the outer spider to fight another spider (not your pet). This results in a continuous chain and enough time for the Goblin Pet to respawn. I must warn you, this is a dangerous camp. At night, the Goblin Pet Ladybug is pretty decent to kill. But during the day you might run into some trouble...trouble meaning you might need your 2nd pet for it. Try your best to 1) not link the goblin and 2) not letting your pet die. Be sure to release your pets where they roam so they do not despawn. I got up to Chain 4 here, and with an EXP band I was hitting like 380. But I did die here a lot, more then I have in any of the previous camps I experienced. If you decide to take this camp, my one word of advice is "Patience". EXP will roll in, just dont get greedy. Walking there everytime you die (unless your HP is in Sandy [S]) is annoying. Pixie Coverage: No. Monster: Giant Spider Level: 50-52 Aggressive: No. Link: Yes. Sound Monsters that might kill you: Not really, just the Goblin and Goblins on the way to camp (vis up).
