For anyone who dont remember the NMs, this is the list:
1) Bugard name Bogglemann. High defense and uses blood weapon.
2) Cryptonberry Executer(NIN) and 3 Cryptonberry Assassins (THF, SMN, BLM) which all have 2 hour of their associated jobs.
3) Kraken named Dalham. Does a "Dust Cloud" 2 hour animation at several points during the fight, however, they only indicate that he is increasing its attack speed, not using a 2 hour.
What I read was you can solo the Cryptonberry and the Kraken.
For the Cryptonberries, was pull the Executer and run either to the docs in Carpenter's Landing or to the cave entrance. His assassin buddies will not follow and you can take him out solo, but watch for his Mijin Gakure at 10-15%. (I did the "pull the important mob and wait for the helper NMs to despawn" method for CoP 6-2 A Place to Return for the 3 Detectors) For the Kraken, the plan was to use bind/gravity and nuke him to death.
Has anyone tried to solo these NMs or know if it is actually possible? (I am almost a 72 blue mage and from what I read, Dissmemberment is a must have BLU spell) PSN ID: Kelshan Currently Playing: Orange Box: Episode 2(Stupid Garden Gnome!) I did pretty well on him as DRG/RDM but I had a whm for buffs. You could probably do it on BLU without much trouble.
I think all the tonberries follow to the zone, but if you zone and come back in you should be able to grab the NM without links.
You're not going to be able to solo a good chunk of the BLU spells anyway. May as well try to drag a few people along for the 7-4 NMs.

I was going to use my 65 NPC as fierce attacker(weapon: Spear) and just let him wack at it for some extra DoT. I was going to Gravity/bind as I nuke from a far.
For the Crypoberry but I was going to do 75BLM/RDM tank/enfeeble/melee/nuke (Spirit taker/yag drinks to keep mp) and use my 65 NPC as Fierce attacker (weapon:Spear) for some extra DoT. I was thinking of zoning as he uses Mijin Gakure...I wonder could I be quick enough to avoid the damage, then rezone and attack. Pull him back to the ??? then kill him and get CS Originally Posted by eticket109 | | You're not going to be able to solo a good chunk of the BLU spells anyway. Tell them to get off thier asses and help, an hour away from whatever precious thing they are doing in-game isn't going to kill them. Hell, with the exception of Tenzen, you don't even have to be on CoP Chapter 7 to help someone with those NMs. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 04-28-2008, 11:18 AM | #5 (permalink) | | Pointy Stick Brain of Knowledge Join Date: Apr 2004 Location: Portland, OR Posts: 1,865 Style: Dark - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 412 Thanked 323x in 199 Posts Gil: 6,056 Bank: 27,210 Total Gil: 33,266 Donate | Re: CoP - Calm Before the storm NM question That seems like a catch-22 to me... they want you to get sea access, but they won't help you get sea access?

I won!!!o!1!1n11!!e!1!!!
It took 3 attempts to do it tho.
First Attempt: BLM/NIN
Buffed: Blink(Blink Band), Shock Spikes
Touch the ??? and made a run for the docks.
Cryptonberry Executer popped and casts Utsusemi: Ni and ran after me. Got to the docks and cast Thunder 4 when he was in range(Yeah I forgot to remove his shadows). Cast Poisonga, he yells for his assassin friends. I cast Thunder 4(834 dmg) as he casts the paralyze Ninjitsu and it sticks. He came closer and did a three hit combo (range attack(Last shadow), one of the elemental Ninjitsu (122), and a normal attack(98)). I started to cast Utsusemi: Ichi but he goes into another triple attack which eats all of my shadows. Now I am exposed and I swear I saw him grin evilly. Two rounds later I am tasting wooden planks.
Second Attempt: BLM/RDM
Buffed: Blink(Blink Band), Ice Spikes, Protect 2, Shell 2, Phalanx, StoneSkin and summoned my NPC(Fierce Attacker). Note: I had him at almost 100 tp before I poped th Cryptonberry Executer.
Touch the ??? and made a run for the docks.
Cryptonberry Executer popped and one of the elemental Ninjitsu and ran after me. Got to the docks and cast Posionga when he was in range(Just in case). He casts one of the elemental Ninjitsu and I cast Thunder 4(823 dmg). He walks forward I swing and NPC engages. NPC hits(63) and does Penta Strike(pole arm WS for 365). NPC gets hate and I cast Gravity. I run away to keep the Executer at range and cast Blizzard 4(756). I run away forgetting I have Gravity on him and I auto disengage (NPC Disengages). I cast Fire 4(638) then Thunder 4(789) as I am kiting. I two hour (no MP left) Gravity wears off as I casting Blizzard 4(749) and he runs up and hits me. Then I see "Cryptonberry Executer readies Mijin Gakure" and I run away...but not quick enough because my NPC and I take 1024 damage.
Third Attempt(about 2 hours later >.> ): BLM/RDM
Same Buffs as second attempt and NPC almost to 100tp.
The only difference from the second attempt was I kept in range not to disengage. I casted dia 2 just after the NPC use the WS Sweep. Kited him around with gravity and nuked. Right before I drop the Executer, I run to the opening where the ??? is and then I dropped him. Ran for the ??? (I scan around just in case is assassin friends were still guarding the ???, but they despawned) and got my cutscene.
Next weekend I am going to try the Kraken NM Dalham PSN ID: Kelshan Currently Playing: Orange Box: Episode 2(Stupid Garden Gnome!) Last edited by Losrase : 05-05-2008 at 08:44 AM. Next weekend I am going to try the Kraken NM Dalham | Strange. I duoed this for a friend and we let the babies depop. He didn't get the cutscene though. Had to go all out and kill all 4 of them the next time around.

Late a night mostly, but its not every night. Few people are on at those times and most dont want to interupt their real life. Originally Posted by Mog | | Strange. I realize his friends didnt despawn and waited until they despawned. Click on the gate and nothing happened. Click on the Gate again and they respawned on top of me. It was instant death.
The second attempt was to kill the NM after his friends despawned and drag him back to the gate. Then drop him and then I got the CS.
What I gathered from that fight is you have to defeat the important NM close to the place you need to click on. I think there is a small time limit before it resets itself. I finished all 3 NM fights.
Dalham (Kraken) fight was a disaster BLM/RDM. I tried the kiting trick I read online and it didnt work for me with my two attempts at it solo. The second time my corpse was smeared evenly, in 3 coats, all over the cave, a taru smn came to solo him. I reraise went outside to rest and watched their dance play out. As Dalham smeared the taru SMN/WHM evenly, in 2 coats, all over the cave, I ask him if we can join forces.
Our first attempt together we got him down to 5% before he smeared us both evenly, in 6 coats(still trying to figure how he squeezed the extra coat), all over the cave. The taru SMN call his PUP/WHM buddy. The three of use owned Dalham.
Next stop was Bogglemann (Bugard). We completely owned him to. It wasnt really a fight, more of a massacre.
This weekend, I am going to try the Tenzen fight. Sea access and new BLU spells here I come.
On another note:
We arrived at Bogglemann at night and there were 3 Fomors around a fire pit. The PUP/WHM was sitting (/sit) next to the fire pit and I decided to /sit next to the fire pit for a photo op. A soon as I typed /sit the 3 fomors immediately attacked. After the fight, I asked the PUP did he have sneak casted and he said no. Last time I remembered, /sit was only a animation and you were considered standing. Has this been changed and you are now considered resting?
